Recently extended and refurbished in elegant fashion by a developer with an established local legacy of design-led Victorian renovations, this four-bedroom terrace house sits on a quiet, tree-lined road and has been finished to high standard.

The exterior of the property is immaculate from sandblasted London stock brickwork and path to the paintwork on the pillars and seals of the bay window. Inside period features have been restored or reinstated, the rooms are light and bright, and the attention to detail is impressive.

A timber front door - which is slightly recessed - opens into a bright hallway with original corbels and other plasterwork. Engineered wood flooring starts here and continues throughout the ground floor, there's an exposed brick wall on one side and a staircase ahead.

The living room at the front of the property has white walls, a large uPVC sash bay window and a column radiator underneath, an exposed brick chimney breast, a ceiling rose and pendant light.

Off the hall, you'll find a useful utility/WC with cupboards and room for a washing machine and tumble dryer before entering the hub of the home - a fantastic, 29ft-long extended dining kitchen family room, spanning the full width of the house.

The kitchen is fitted with a mix of mid-grey and off-white Shaker-style wall and base units, worktops, white Metro tiles and a large central island complete with an undermounted sink. A combination of recessed downlighting and a skylight above the dining area ensure it's always flooded with light. There's also a stainless-steel range cooker incorporating a gas hob and four ovens, a cooker hood with an extractor above, and an integrated fridge freezer. A spacious built-in cupboard sits behind a door on the right-hand side, and another door conceals a staircase down to the cellar, for further storage. The garden is accessed by wide sliding doors that give the house a wonderful indoor/outdoor vibe when open.

From the hallway, white-painted stairs with a striped black, white and mocha runner lead up to the first floor landing. Here you'll find two double bedrooms, both with wall-to-wall carpet, and a family bathroom.

Like the living room underneath, the front bedroom includes a uPVC bay window, an exposed brick chimney breast, a white column radiator and white walls. The room runs the full width of the house and has a secondary window and plenty of space to add a dressing table or reading nook as well as fitted or freestanding wardrobes. The other bedroom is at the back, overlooking the garden and versatile enough to be used as a study or hobby room if preferred.

Between these two bedrooms is the smart and contemporary bathroom, where white tiled and painted walls are complemented by chrome brassware and two-tone flooring. This room includes a bath with a traditional shower mixer, a fixed showerhead on a riser rail plus a hand shower inside a clear glass and tiled enclosure, matching Jack and Jill wall-hung handbasins with crosshead mixer taps, a floor-mounted heated towel radiator and a loo.

A further staircase, also covered by a runner, takes you up to the second floor where two more carpeted bedrooms occupy the converted loft space. The primary bedroom is almost 20-feet long and naturally lit by full-height French windows and a skylight. It has a Juliet balcony an ensuite shower room with marble-effect tiles, a basin vanity unit and loo, plus eaves storage. The fourth bedroom is also a double, with a sash window.

Outside, the low-maintenance south-west-facing garden is enclosed by a timber fence and consists of a patio area and a grass lawn.

IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Palamos Road is conveniently located for access to Leyton Midland Road and Lea Bridge stations, the A12 and North Circular roads, and numerous bus routes. Several primary and secondary schools judged as outstanding or good by Ofsted are within a 15-minute walk.

A choice of parks, open green spaces, and sporting facilities are on the doorstep. Jubilee Park and Ive Farm Sports Ground for volleyball and football, are little more than five minutes' walk away, and Leyton Orient FC, Oliver Road Allotments and Coronation Gardens can all be reached in 10.

Hackney Marshes, the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, and the Olympic Stadium are also in walking distance and you can hop on the Central line at Leyton tube station for the short ride to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park or Westfield.

Head to Francis Road for an array of independent shops, cafes and bars: the Yardarm wine bar and deli, the coffee at Strange Brew and Korean cuisine at Zaxx are all recommended. More watering holes, stores and restaurants are along Leyton High Road - try the haggis toasties at Deeney's, the pasta at Figo and craft beer at the Leyton Technical, in the old town hall.

Slightly further afield, Wanstead Flats is southernmost part of Epping Forest, one of the largest expanses of common land in London and criss-crossed with footpaths, bridleways and cycle tracks.
